Shots are ok, but a litter tighter crop will help them especially in the lineouts, what are you using, have a look at this I took today

using 1d mkiin and 70-200 f2.8 l is for all of them didnt have the reach i needed and endded up doing ALOT of running around

think the one of the line out was about 150mm ish so could of got it tighter

must say rugby is alot harder than motorsports

I was out for the first today with a 300f4, was using a 80-200 2.8L, on a 10D, before and I found I had to wait till the action cane to me, found it a bit tricky with the 300,

Have a look here

some nice shots there felt like i needed about 300 400 ish to get most of the action the light was a problem as well it was so low by the time it started i was limited to only one side of the pitch. tighter is the way to go might pick up a 1.4x tele tube

just out of interest how many shots in total did you take ?

thanks

A 1.4x will be ok for rugby, that is 280f4, I am either on the 22 or behind the posts, I took 250 shots, Do pics for the Local rugby club for their web site.

OK think I might grab a 1.4 then along with everything alts i want :S was thinking of offering my services to the club but want to make sure my pictures are up to scratch first

I only shot off 60 ish alot of the play floated round in the middle so it was blocked from the side lines, from behind the posts sounds like a better place to shoot from

Keep shooting and lets see them, going now to watch Ireland playing Pakistan in the Cricket world cup, good luck
