My friend acquired this point-and-shoot camera last year as he wanted a second camera besides his prosumer and I never had the time to toy around with this model.

Somehow, a few weeks ago I played around with this camera and I realized that most of the shots that was taken under lowlight condition are very grainy and not sharp at all ...

I wonder is there a way to make it focus properly because I tried but it did not work out.

Any IXUS i7 users here?

(:

The normal behavior of P&S cameras in Auto mode is to rise the ISO when the light levels are going down. When ISO goes up, the grain starts to be more noticeable - so this is also normal.
Blurry pictures are caused by the photographer / camera movement at low shutter speeds, so I guess that it's more like user error than camera's fault. Try to steady the camera on something like a table or a chair and use the self-timer to release the shutter - the odds are that your pictures will be much sharper this way. Using a small tabletop tripod is also an excellent option for low-light shooting (I recommend the Manfrotto 709 model).

Yeah, I have done all those mentioned by you. Steady hands and all that. But somehow the pictures are still blurry.

Never had any problems with other Canon compacts though.

Post an example or two? 100% crops will help.
