I just pulled the trigger and ordered the canon 70-200mm F2.8 L IS! I am stoked about getting this lens, but holy cow--- it's $1700.00 when its all said and done. Looks like I am going to need to book some more weddings this summer!

Although I have the non IS version, I truly believe you're going to enjoy using the lens, I know I do :)

It's a fabulous lens - for weddings it's worth every penny.

Thank GOD i bought that lens in our local store [with price about $2200], and i didn't feel as you feel now when you ordered oline.
After i ordered my first order [which were: 100-400L, 16-35L, 10-22] then i was xxxx myself of waiting, and when i got my order my credit card and money transfer working every month non stop.

This lens is one holy tool in Canon line, so enjoy it and Congrats!:)

I know how you feel, I just "pulled the trigger" on the 100-400 IS L last night ($1420 delivered to the door) and I am in shock! This double what I have paid for any lens so far, and almost $500 more than I paid for my 20D. I am excited and can't wait for the brown truck to deliver it!

One of the greatest lenses a photographer can have :-) I found the first time I spent more on a lens than a body a very scary time!

You will have no regrets when you get this lens. I just got mine a month ago and I cannot wait to shoot my first wedding with it in a couple of weeks.

Hopefully Ill have mine before summer. Im so anxious I can hardly stand it. From what I understand it will be the best $1700 bucks I will ever spend.

If you planned to get it sooner or later, better sooner than later!

I just did what you did and ordered the 70-200 f4 IS as I planned to get it sooner or later to replace my superb Non IS version. Just waiting for delivery now, I'll sort out the credit card later ;)

Enjoy the lens!

I was stoked until the CC bill came in and then it was work, work, work to pay for it.

MY GOD! What have I done?

Very good!

Continue to work on that exclamation, and try to get the totally shocked and disoriented expression on your face correct when the UPS guy delivers the lens and your wife asks you how much it was.

Here on the forum, of course, there's no need for that ... you can show your true feelings

Best regards,
Andy

Great lens. It will spend a lot of time on one of your cameras. I sold my 2.8L non IS to buy the IS version. No regrets!

You have to explain to your wife that "L" lenses are not a purchase but an investment. If taken care of, you can get your money out of them if you decide to sell, so really, they are FREE!
