does anyone have one and what type of results are you getting..
i have a 1d and would like to know the best lens set up for using to take insect photography...
my concern with the 65 is that it is manual and not auto(not that i cant handle it) but it sounds like the five times life size is hard to beat...
advice and experience is greatly appreciated...thanks

I believe that this was the best lens for what I wanted to do (insects and such) and it has served me well. I am not having much luck with the MR-14EX Ring Flash, as it seems to like a little more distance between it and the subject than what you'll get on this lens, I wish Canon had mentioned this. This lens would be best used on dead bugs indoors where you have plenty of time and complete control over all factors, including the subject. I have gotten far better quality shots with this lens than any other I have, so yes, you'll enjoy the lens!

Good Luck
