View Full Version : Photoshop 6.0 does not see RAW?

I wondered whether it is neccessary to first convert to another format for PS to be able to open a RAW file. I saved RAW files to a CD-Rom and Windows Explorer can "see" these RAW files. When I try to find these RAW files directly from PS, they are invisible. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong?

Yes you need to convert the files to tiffs in order to view and edit in PS.

Get Breezebrowser it is an excellent program & will convert raw to tiff which PS will recognise.

Yes, Breezebrowser is excellent.

But you can still see the raw files in PS. Go to File, Import. You should see an entry for your camera (I see Canon G1 USB). A TWAIN menu will pop up, for which you can either browse the files in the camera (if attached), or click on My Computer to browse for CRW files on you computer.

Thanks for the info. I did as you said and looked under My Computer / CD-Rom and it works, accept: The CRW files are still not visible. Only the JPG files show up. Strage, is it?

Yes, that is strange!

Have you verified that there is a CRW file in the directory you're looking at? ;-)

Do you have both the CRW and THM files in the directory? Not sure if that makes a difference, but you might try it.
