Wow, I love the lighting on the first two. They're all spectacular though. Do you have any of the reception shots shot (or PPd) straight though?

No flash used on all of the pics, except for the one of the kiss (canon 580ex on my camera) bouncing it on the wall.
On #2 it was mainly natural light I used, it was 12 pm, sunny day, and there were big windows there, and the light you see on the bride's face is coming from the videographer which was very close to her.... exif: FOCAL LENGHT 38mm, F5, ISO 640, speed 1/80

As everyone said, awesome lighting!
How are you getting the white so bright on the dress in the colour 'dancing' pics? Using the event lighting?

Was it strange because the wedding was on a Sunday? That's pretty normal here, of course Saturday's are most popular. Great shots! Some of them look a little "flashy" to me, I prefer a little more subtle lighting. I'm not sure what's happening in the first one. What a colorful reception!

Great lighting, great photos, and I wonder what kind of processing you do to get that look?

thanks jessiper! btw, i have always like your avatar (i love red-orange hair on girls :) )
flashy? well the light of the of the videographer was very hard (sometimes helps sometimes dont)////// The ifrst shot i just love it, how I caught the moment, the available light helped alot (i have a 30d and just used iso640 so noise wasnt a problem)......and yes the light from the musicband helped alot this time!

thanks TIM and Gary for your comments........
As I have mentioned before, The available light at the reception from the musicband was amazing, also there was a very intense light coming from the second floor and it was like the ones used on THEATERS and using my 50mm 1.4 and iso 1250 or 1600 was a killer...... also the HALL was almost white on all ceiling and walls.......
on the post process, my girlfriend uses alot curves, contrast, brightnees and selective color manipulation, sharp, and some plug-ins ....

Robykincan.....the dress was very bright as you said, because of the "PURPLE LIGHT" from the b and, and also because of the contrast and bright used on the postprocess...

Very nice pictures. They all look very rich and complete. I also wanted to compliment you on your watermark. Minimal but effective. Nicely done.

I know that the masses are completly in love with these shots. I have a couple of reservations. Hope you don't mind if I appear to be a voice of descent.
1. Dramatic display of the venue, but the groom's face is partially obscured and as said before, you can't tell what they're doing. The light play on the brides face is interesting.
2. This is excellent. Great comp and exposure. The light is just right.
3. This is truly precious. Wonderful expressions. Looks a bit too bright to me.
4. Rock on.
5. I like the composition and their expressions. Looks a bit too bright where the main light falls, especially on her face and his neck.
6. Super color and overall view of the action. I really like it except- there is no detail left in the dress, which might not be appreciated by the bride.
7. Really captures the bride's joy. Stunning in every way.
8. Fabulous cake. The reds are impressive, but the blown out whites really detract, imho.
Sorry if I'm odd man out here. I think it's a solid bunch of shots with some real standouts, but I'd be uncomfortable just gushing. Hope you don't mind.
Cheers,
Mickey

Tragerman,
Interesting take on the photos. I enjoyed your perspective. I went back and looked at the pics with your comments in mind and I can see where you are coming from. I agree with some of your comment but not all of them.
But you did teach me a thing or two about what to look for in detail.
Thanks

Kona77,
The critical comments were exactly what I'd tell myself if they were my pictures (which don't yet rise to the overall quality of the OP). Of course, it's a lot easier to critically observe the images in the comfort of my home as opposed to being in the heat of the event. 1kerry had a difficult assignment with all of the mixed light sources, and of course, the moving light from the video crew. I'm glad you got something out of reading my of my perspective. Knowing that I'm not a top dawg around here experience and talent-wise, I sometimes type with trepidation. I may not have any business posting critiques, but I learn from writing them because I need to really look and consider the image completely in order to make a reasonable written effort. I try to write them with the same level of respect and encouragement as I'd like to receive. If I hadn't found this forum, I don't think I'd ever have had the nerve to give wedding potography a serious go. I have taken in a lot here, and try to give back too. Thanks!

thanks for taking your time, much appreciate...
#1 THEY ARE READING SOME RELIGIOUS STUFF (YOU can see the paper on the brides hand) dont know exactly...I like to play with shadows, specially if those shadows are on the groom so the bride can look better:)
#3 I shoot on adobe, and edit on adobe, and once the pics are uploaded they get that WASHY LOOK (believe me, that one look gorgeous printed)
#5 Again as above..the original one edited on adobe rgb looks pretty natural, the yellow-pink tones of the skin looks nice, and also printed looks very well....
#6 I agree, during action is difficult to have those shots perfect...thats why im working alot...
#8 thanks, and again...i shot that cake on crossprocess setting in my camera thats why it gets that white very white, and again alittle washy because it was convereted to srgb
THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR OPINION, THATS WHY I POST HERE, TO GET SOMEONEELSE OPINION TO BE BETTER EVERYDAY...

I totally agree traggerman...very difficult.....sometimes you have the perfect angle, the perfect lightning the perfect moment, but it goes everything very fast that you didnt take the photo well, and the result is a pic with good moment, good lightning, angle etc, but blurred, not as sharp as it should, because this type of photo is taken from an specific moment that wont repeat again maybe...thats why this job is more difficult than it appears....
thanks again for yoru time and for sharing your experience....
