He is so adorable, all of the shots will be appreciated by the parents.

I love the detail in shot #1, especially the eyelashes, however, his head seems to be dismembered from the rest of his body (I realize it's the angle and the close-upness of the shot, but it seems off).

#2's a great shot... he looks like he's sitting in a gigantic lightbox! I love the look! What did you do to create that atmosphere?

The lighting/colouring seems a bit off in #4 but that may only be because the other three photos have a pure white background and this one's got the fuzzy blue.

I like the different approach you took with the crops and angles.

thanks,

i hear you about the first one but like you said, it was the combination of the angle and the lighting. maybe i should try cropping closer but i am afraid that it is going to look weird. the second one is by far my favorite and the amazing part is all i did was use one off camera 580ex flash and white card board as reflector. as for the 4th one, i changed to a blue muslin for that one and that was a mistake. this muslin is the worst quality i have ever seen and a waste of time and money. i will try to do a reshoot next week to try and fix all the things i did wrong yesterday.

btw, the 4th one looks off in the color because the two boys have VERY different skin tones which was not easy to control.

I love #1, great detail. I didn't notice it til Jenne mentioned it, but it does kinda look like a head on a table though.

What was your lighting setup? It looks like good all over light. (Never mind, you just replied above me).

I think it looks a lot better! IMO, it doesn't look too cropped.

I love your second take at #1! His eyelashes... wow.

The next one is adorable and a great capture, but I have to say I'm not a fan of the last one IMHO. I like how his blue shirt adds character to the series of photos and the B/W conversion doesn't deliver that oomph that the rest of them do. He's a pretty fair baby with delicate features that get kind of washed out with the conversion.

I don't mean to be picky, I just wanted to offer up my honest thoughts... I hope you don't mind. :) Great subject and great photos, I wish I had a baby who would sit around for any length of time like that... angelic.

mind?? not at all!!! i appreciate your great feedback. i do agree about the last one and he does in fact gets a bit washed into the background. like i said, i did a lot of experementing yesterday so i knew that things will not be perfect right away. as for the baby, he is my nepew and he is by fa the best subject i have ever had. he has no problem sitting there for 30-40 mins just playing and he LOVES the camera..
