i know exif is stripped, sorry about that. mostly shot @ 1/320 or faster. iso 1600 or 3200. Using ef35 f/2 @ f/2, zenitar 16 @ 2.8, and nifty 50 @ 1.8 or 2. no flash.

I know now that custom white balance is key.

Very impressed with your first concert shots. Nice crisp images overall, good color, etc.

#1 is very impressive, the crisp drummer face, but blurred drum sticks and funky angle make it a very cool shot.

#8 is composed a little weird (a lot of space to the top but cut off the body - something I do quite often as well) but that being said, I like that shot as well. The highlights and shadows give the shot quite a bit of mood.

I took a whole lot from this forum. and pretty much thanks everyone on here for their advise in all the numerous threads.

my number one tip i kept remembering was. Guitar heads, guitar heads, guitar heads!

And then facial expression, emotion...

now i have to work on my composition. Howeve ri love this type of work because it gets you going, due to teh fact there is a time limit and opportunity to be lost. in a blink of an eye the shot can be gone forever. Like there was a shot i missed when the lead spit up in the air. I wish i could have it over but i will remember next time. :)

thanks again POTN performing arts Photogs for all your tips!!!

Sharp and a nice big DoF on some of them. For my tastes, I would've cropped a couple a little differently. I like 6 and 11 the best.

MC-zenitar 16mm f/2.8? You were doing manual focus at this show with your 30D? ? ?

I wish my first concert images would've looked only 10% as good...
Nice! I like #1, 5 and 6 best.
Some images could be improved by a bit of cropping IMO.

feel free to show me what you would have done cropping wise i would love to see the dramatic change of expression when someone elses style is involved.

And yes Manual Focus at the show. Distance scale i trust it. :)

And I would have been ecstatic if any of my first 30 concerts looked 1% as good as these!
