Wasnt my usual self that day so these were shot with Apeture priority. ISO started out with 800 but bumped to 1600 within a minute of their first song. These shots are unedited because I was in a hurry. These are the JPG preview files ripped from the RAW file using PhotoMechanic. No EXIF :( Images in this set are shot with 17 35L, so no love for the drummer. 1 song limit. The rest of them are

These are real good...Especially for a one song limit...

(I just saw a different thread for this band around here somewhere...)

How do you like that 17-35mm 2.8L zoom? Why did you choose to run with it and not the 24-70mm 2.8L?

Are you going to number your pics so we can give you the once over now?

Go light, shoot fast. Shoot right, shoot tight, let me go home tonight.
17 35 and 70 200 2.8 on a belt.

17 35L unfortunately is not one of my favorite lenses. It's fast, small, quiet, but the distortion kills it. I just had to adapt and frame the image out of the distortion on the fly. In other words, I have to frame it in camera for an 8x10 crop so I'm losing some pixels :( I prefer the 24 70L because of the versatility of that lense. Nice wide end on a 1.3 body and just enough zoom for drummers without switching lenses.

Unfortunately I dropped the 24 70L and a mk2 body on concrete back in early Feb. Still have not heard back from Canon CPS yet :( I bought the 17 35L as a temp lense because it's wide and cheap. On a personal note, I'm not sure if this lense deserve the "L" badge.

Great feedback from you Redmouse...

I needed to hear some info from the field regarding the lens...

I got the 24-70mm and am real glad you think it is a practical lens for shows, cause I haven't been able to use it or my 70-200mm 2.8L IS yet, since I got them in October...

Canon fixed my 50mm 1.4 a couple of months ago, and it's sharp and focuses a lot better then when I first got it this summer...
Hope your's will be even better than before, all tuned up and ready to go...
