Hi there, so I am feeling a little more confident now, still a beginner in all aspects so any feedback on the below pics would be greatly appreciated. These were taken on a very overcast foggy day down by the ocean. All were taken with the nifty fifty on my xti.

1. original with a little PP

2. B&W and cropped a little, I know some people may not enjoy the birds in the sky and suggest that I clone them out, but i actually preferr them in.

3. I was going for the footprints in the sand look, but with dog prints instead :-)

4. This is my try at some form of landscape shot (which i now realize is still a bit titled and will fix)

The cropped black and white picture is far better than the original. The cropping really improves the composition, with the original there isn't much to look at or little subject, which the crop corrects.

#3 the dog foot prints. A good shot, personally I'd have shot this portrait and reduced the depth of field to great back ground more blur but that could just be me.

#4, not a bad landscape, you can see how over cast it was, always makes it hard! Again though, needs a subject personally, maybe a walk closer to those stumps of the pier.

Hope to be of help ... :)

thanks for the feedback, i agree with all the feedback, the dog prints i will prob just use as a background for a collage or something. As for the landscape one re: your suggestion that there be something there, what about this, or is it too far?

The horizon cuts your pictures almost exactly in half.
I think they would be more attractive if you had cropped some of the un-interesting sky.
Even to the point of making a panoramic format of the pictures.

I'd have cropped the first one so that the birds were looking into the picture and then cloned out the BG tower.
