Hi I aplogize if this has been asked and answered before.
Firstly, these forums are GREAT and INVALUABLE as I am sure everyone here knows.
One catagory I think is missing from the photo sharing section is "Photo Journalism." Isn't this the type of photography that most of us see in our everyday lives? Also, something that is actually quite tricky to do right.
I for one would really enjoy the opportunity to learn/enhance my style in this direction from those on here who do this type of photography.

I believe it's under urban life for photojournalism.

What about suburban or rural Photojournalism? War Photographers? No place?

PJ's less a subject-matter than a shooting style classification. Categories here are really set up on a subject-matter basis. If you're doing travel PJ, post and look there; if you're doing PJ of Urban Life, post and look there; if you're covering sports, go there. And so forth.

I guess what I was thinking when I first asked was more for those shooting general news photography which could cover many different subjects.

I think it would be nice to have a PJ section in the "Sharing Knowhow" section. There's the Wedding photographer's section, why not a PJ area for people interested in getting into that style of photograpy, and a place to share tips on ways to "discover" subjects worthy of a PJ-style shoot.
Does that sound like a good idea to anyone else?

Like any other request for a new area; you need to show us there's enough activity on the board to merit creation of a new forum. Based on current levels of activity, it looks like the level's above 30 or so active threads a day before there's enough evidence of a need.

One thing to consider about photojournalism is that it is really a general category that can include any number of disciplines. If you look through almost any form of print media, you'll see all manner of photographs, most of which would fall into one or more categories here at POTN. Sports, candids, weddings, transportation, portraits, landscape, motorsports, etc., etc.
What really sets PJs aside is more an issue of how the photographers work, and how they market their work product. With that thought in mind, it seems to me we already have the perfect venue for those discussions in 'The Business of Photography.'
