Becky and I are thinking about going to the grand canyon this summer. I'm sure someone will beat us to it, though.

Doesn't look like there's much room for tripods. Maybe I'll wrap my gorillapod around the railing.

I'm not afraid of heights, but that thing looked scary to me when I saw illustrations of what it would be. Now that's it's done, I find it hard to imagine I'd go out in it. Makes me dizzy to think about!

I'll enjoy it through another, more daring, photographer ;)

I saw on TV that there not allowing the general public out on it with cameras, there afraid that to many will be dropped and ding up the glass surface of the walkway. Also there looking into some sort of tether system in the future that will permit people to take there cameras with them.

Yep. Notice the paper booties everyone has on. When they were first planning this, I wondered how they could keep a glass floor clean and scratch-free enough to be viewed through. In a glass-bottom boat, they don't let you walk on the glass . . .

I sense an impending increase in warranty claims whether they stop you taking cameras or not. I can see it now... Man walks into shop with bag of parts picked up off the Canyon floor by beings not of this earth, the type noone knew existed until they got sick of being hit on the head by compacts and ventured out into the US homeland; and says "do you think you can fix this? My daughter dropped it of the sofa and it's a little scratched, it won't cost more than £30 will it?" :)

I'll be there later this summer, but I won't be able to make it out there. I don't believe the roads are paved to get to the overlook. My car won't make it.

I hate it when technological artifacts blemish nature. :)

I wish the tribe well, but this is an abomination!
