Travel and Landscapes was my hang out a couple of years ago, always sharing many shots from beautiful NZ, before more recently my lack of time, has stopped myself sharing many photos.

I guess I've become part of the furniture. A bit faded, in the corner.

The trip to Fiji was from 29th December to 3rd Jan, where I went with fellow forum member iKirst and her family, for her sisters wedding. Click here (http://www.warrenwilliams.co.nz/weddings/billington/)

Finally, considering POTN book entry voting has closed, I'll include this one too.. Another special moment.
20D, tripod, 10 sec timer

So it's been over 2 years. I started off as a Sony user, with a point and shoot, but that soon changed when I bought my 20D. Still using it, but my lens collection is continuing to grow, and considering the 1D Mk III in the future.

Must say thanks to everyone who has helped me along, the local kiwi guys in the GKPE thread, for regular meet ups and get togethers of fellow Canon enthusiasts...
And thanks to Pekka and all the mods for keeping this place running.

PS. Rest of Fiji images can be found: http://www.warrenwilliams.co.nz/gallery/album/landscapes/fiji/index.html

Those are really beautiful, Warren. I am beginning to really loathe this forum. You guys make me want to travel and I don't like to. :( But really, nice shots, and I also love the last one, colors are amazing and 10 seconds, how did you get everything to stay still?

Great set of images. The one with the lizard..... that is not just ANY lizard... that is a Fiji Iguana! Very beautiful and endangered... although I think they are doing much better now in Fiji and populations are rising once again!

Very nice shots, love the last one, 10sec for the timer setting, right? not the exposure itself?

Thanks :D - I love it too.

Thanks again - 2.5 second shutter speed, on the 10 sec timer before photo taken (ie it was myself who took the image ) - The shutter speed was about right, to get the water nice and velvet like

#2 is awesome, nice work

Thanks, the scene here was quite amazing, it was very quiet, no one else up (see many people stay up late in the restaurants and bars, only a couple of health junkies wake up early for a quick run)

Nice !! That last one is quite special.

Thanks - definately can't repeat this image..

 - Yeah I guess it was an endangered one - Was taken at a wildlife sanctuary (I'd never interfere with the natural environment, so they're already well hand raised) - and very photo worthy.

That last shot is incredible, almost unreal looking. Excellent job!

Well there was a bit of CGI involved... - Actually completely untouched (could look at cloning out the bamboo line out in the water)

Very nice shots, love the last one, 10sec for the timer setting, right? not the exposure itself?

Heh, I was misleading everyone. 10 sec timer for me to click and run into the shot, and try and guess when the 2 1/2 second exposure was starting. Still had to stand fairly still. Her hair was softly blowing, so at 100% crop it's a bit ghostly.

Congrats!
Some very nice shots! Love #2, 7 and 8!!!

Thanks Jake - glad you like them

Amazing! These shots are very well done, and very sharp! I took a look at your gear list but couldn't figure out what lenses you were using...

Thanks, sharpness comes with Gillette razors..
I think the shots were:

#1, 2, 3, 8 - 17-40L + 77mm CP

#4, 6 - Sigma 120-300 f2.8

#5 - 50mm 1.8

#7 - Sigma 10-20mm and circular polariser

Some great shots there warren, congrats on the 5000!

Thanks Adam - It's taken a while - I did a search on my posts - I was at 4500 in October 2006 - I've definately slowed down lately, which is a good sign - means I'm actually working ;) - Maybe I'll come visit you in the UK soon. At least within 2 years, maybe 2 months - too many options right now, but I have left the next few months free of weddings - I declined 3 weddings in the hope I could work on cruise ships, but didn't get around to applying for jobs...

Its' in amongst some water, sharks and some sea snakes. :p
The time I travelled was wet season - it rained at 3pm every single day! And cleared up by 6pm for a marvellous sunset. The skies were perfect

The last one is magical. Well done.

Thanks, mostly magical for the other half that is portrayed in this image

my favorites are the last two... love the way how the sky came out...

Thanks, the last one was in fact taken on our first day there. I saw the buree, and was amazed at the sky. I took this one shot, with some crazy imagination, and came off. Good on manual mode, with a light fill flash, and dragging the shutter.
The sky in the 7th can be attributed to the circular polariser

Congrats and great photo's!

Thanks again :)

Awesome set...looks like you had a great time. #2,4,5 are my favs. Love those clean sky photos.

They needed a bit of soap, but they definately scrubbed up clean.

lol watch survivor, you'll soon pick it up

Or you could listen to Destinys child for survivor..

Oh look - I spy a girl I know ;)

And to the one who made it all happen. Thank you so kindly. Without your family being there, without your smile, and enthusiasm to jump in my crazy shots, and also take a couple of favourite photos of unphotogenic ME. Thank you. :)
PS. That kiss was breath-taking in more ways than just the photo.

Not that far from Bora Bora where I'm planning on going next year.
Hopefully I can capture some pics like these.
The 2nd and last one are amazing. Clear and great colours. I need to practice, practice, practice because like Wazza said you won't be able to duplicate them.

Great pics.

Who is this strange character?
Flash? I thought I bought two 580EXs... It's in safe hands.. Will try and pop around and see you at your birthday bash and return it, thanks again for the loan.. Maybe I should charge storage fees. :p

Thanks again, the first hasn't been photoshopped at all.
The second one, was slightly crooked, leveled it out, and that was all. Also there was yellow buoy which I photoshopped out, slight distraction. Apart from that, nothing is edited, colours were rich there.

Thanks Daniel, just saw your post.

Yeah, you've been hiding under the radar a wee bit lately. Hope Flight School is going well - can't wait till we take photos from the air all over NZ ;)
