Ok guys I am including an e-mail I got from a supposed "SCORE" offical. I am a little hesitent about this due to an aol e-mail address is being used. Basicly SCORE (off road racing events) are wanting money from photographers who take pictures at there events. I have been to a few SCORE events including the ones in mexico and this is the first time I have heard about this. My take is when i am in mexico I am not on US soil and not on privite property so takeing pictures there also in the states on public property should be ok. I see no point in paying them these high prices to take pictures. I really don't make a dime from these events and paying them there cut would be horrible business. So I am going to chat with an my attorney but wanted your guys opions. So if anyone has advice please let me know.
Mike,
SCORE has three options to offer you relative to a SCORE Licensing Agreement for 2007:
Each will allow you up to three media credentials for each event.
RACE-BY-RACE: (handled on a race-by-race basis)
$200.00 U.S. each, starting with this year's SCORE Baja 250.
Balance of the 2007 SCORE Desert Series (paid in full at one time)
$700.00 U.S. total starting with this year's SCORE Baja 250 (five races total).
The three 2007 SCORE Desert Series races in Mexico (paid in full at one time)
$500.00 U.S. total starting with this year's SCORE Baja 250.
In granting the license to secure official media credentials and sell still images from SCORE events, in addition to the fee, SCORE will also require the following:
-put the official race name on each image (either as the event logo or in text)
-use the SCORE logo and words "official 2007 SCORE photo licensee" on your website
-use the SCORE logo with a link to the SCORE website (www.score-international.com) on your website.
-register in advance for SCORE media credential(s) for each event covered in your agreement with SCORE.
After review, please let us know what agreement you would like to enter into and we will e-mail you an invoice and agreement.
Please contact us with any questions and thank you for your cooperation.
