View Full Version : Does a tripod adaptor exist?

I have the Slik Sprint tripod, a great travel tripod. But I hate having to use the screw mount. Is there a type of adaptor/mount that I can buy to allow for one of those quick release mounts from the camera?
I don't have the money to buy a nice ballhead, and I don't use a tripod enough to warrant it, especially since I only bought this tripod in the last year.
Any ideas/help would be awesome,
Thanks
Byron

Here's one that's popular with the Bogen/Manfrotto folks. And the clamp and plate combo is relatively inexpensive, too.

You can use a Bogen 3299 RC2 which has a 1/4-20 screw that will fit on a Sprint head or you could buy a nice Manfrotto head and do this:
3/16 to 1/4 bushing

The bushing installed on a regular 3/16 head from Manfrotto.
