Ah - I guess you think these guys are just fooling around - :)

How wrong can you be, they are practising / honing their throwing skills, enabling them to make a throw of any baggage that has been left behind, into any aircraft hold without damage to aircraft or baggage ;)

Keep telling yourself... There is more to it than what you see out your window... Some airlines are better some are worse... Throw bags in the belly of a NWA DC-9 for out 8hrs....

Actually, the bags are easier. Its the loose cargo. You have to shove, slide, stack. For most planes this is done from a kneeling postion...

Being a ramper means you don't get to sit around watching airplanes. It's hard work. Try it for a few months then come back and let us know if you feel the same way.

I spent six months as a contract ramper for Delta, loading MD-88's. I'm 6'3 and trying to load bags/cargo in those small bins was not fun.

Remember having to load multiple carts worth of mail? Then loading bags? Then having to offload mail because there were too many bags? All before pushback and the clock is ticking...

Whats worse is hockey charters. They tend to use MD-80's from Midwest express. Trying to pack and slide huge road cases in the bin is murder.
