great color saturation.

deep greens, light greens, etc.. many shades

Very sharp in the middle (main focus i assume)

I like the shot as well, not only because I shot with an a60, but because its a nice shot. It looks as if you put the cam inside the tree/plant.
Maybe the backside of the camera was covered by the foliage?
NICE

I like it - the colours and detail are great.
The only drawback is that the two 'branches' that catch your eye the most and draw you into the picture, are both out of focus.

There's not a lot you can do with depth of field at that close a range, I'd say maybe take a shot from farther back, increasing the DOF and then crop tightly, or try to locate a patch where the sprigs are about equal in length and take another.

Yeah, the main point of interest drifting out of focus is the main problem with an otherwise nice photo.

I'd be tempted to drop down to the lower left and maybe try to get the leaves more square to the viewer to retain their focus and have a nicely blurred background created by that curtain of leaves in the upper right.

It is a bush. I will go try your comments later today and put the results.

Here is a crop that I made:

Latest crop improves things a lot.Nice unusual angle on what looks to be a conifer.

Huh, the shot is so terribly ordinary (as it seems to require no mastery at all), and yet so incredibly pleasing to the eye  :D I guess it is because of the generous depth illusion.

I definetely prefer the crop as I was slightly disturbed by the small piece of the foreground branch.

Doesn't do anything for me. Did you try to single out one flower/leave as central subject? If so, I can't find it. Keep wandering over the shot to find something to relate to.
Crop is better though.
