I've posted lightly on these message boards (hardforums.com) and recently got into an argument wiht some people, which has put a bad taste in my mouth. And now this:

I wouldnt mind so much had he not put a copyright on the photo under his name.
nor would i mind so much had he not insulted me in other threads. Needless to say i'm very angry, and i will make him regret this.

The guy pulled his picture.
I used to live in Ohio - Port Clinton is a relatively small city located between Cleveland and Toledo, along the shore of Lake Erie.
I'd watch him, but don't respond in anger - just report him to the moderator and use other means to even the score. Don't telegraph your moves....

I'm not going to post on those forums again anyways.
For many reasons.
1.) 90% of the members are not photographers, they simply have cheap P&S cameras and think they know everything.
2.) they are not nice people, most of them act like they are 10
3.) i have a better forum here
Obviously i scared him enough to pull the photo, i wasnt actually going to do anything about it other then what i already did. And it worked.

greatest trick of all time .... someone once stole a picture from my signature, it took me like forever to make this animation, and the guy was lazy enough to just use the same link .... so I replace it with a huge 1600x1900 pic of Spongebob and it had the same address .... it was sooo coool lol he almost got banned just for having a huge picture in his sig hohoho

Ban the sucker.
Messing with someone's images without permission in any way is not funny nor excusable.

...Come on people. Timmy has been with this Forum for some time already, and so has XXWoodsmanXX.
Let's call this "a bad moment" for both and hope they will manage to stay with us, (and far apart from each other  ) .
Just my 2 cents, and now I'll crawl back to my corner.

I'm more-than-willing to comply and adhere to rules of the forum. I love it here, and MOST of the members.
In-closing, I'd like other's to take note of how Mr. quest carries himself on the very same forum he shed light on in the initial post.

C'mon, we're no jury and we know Timmy, so let's just drop it and agree on no shinanigans around here.

That I can certainly agree upon. (Even though I'd never use the term "know" about someone over the internet, unless I knew them IRL.)

And what does RFMSports selling his great picture have to do with you two?

I've sent PMs to the individual involved and have asked them to suspend personal attacks on each other. I prefer not to lock the thread or cancel anyone's posts, but we're getting pretty close to the point where it might be necessary to do so. If you feel the need to keep going at each other, please do it in the other forum. Otherwise, play nice. We're all friends here, and we're very unlikely to take sides, especially in whizzing contests.

And what does RFMSports selling his great picture have to do with you two?
One of the first posts i read in that forum was someone showing off his galleries. I was impressed, some other people (less experienced then RFM for sure...as he's younger then i) were not so impressed. RoyJr wasn't even a name that rings a bell in that first thread on those boards.
I showed Jim the thread where MrBucket (as he is known on the [h] forums...not woodman) said that football...high school football was harder to photograph then the shots he has taken.
When Jim got the cover shot of that boat racing mag i showed it to them...the debate went underway again as to how "average" the RFM stuff is. Again i showed this forum, again they got amused.
Now he gets approached by FHM...a very popular international magazine. They generally dont use average shots.
My post on the [h] forum about RFM is simply a continuation of how i feel about his work.
royjr/woodman posted a (rather nice) photo of his daughter on these boards. He later posted the same photo on the [h] forums. It was then that i made the connection (as i never really made an attempt to do so before) that i realized that royjr is on these boards. I figured you people would like to know how mature this father is...stealing photos and putting his name on my work. Not for profit, not for a desire to gain any sort of fame (fame from my work..yeah right). No, much worse in my opinion...he did it simply to get a rise out of me. Very mature father figure he must make...
So that is the reason for the rebirth of this thread. I have no problems ignoring everything he says to me or anyone else...that would be best and would avoid any future problems i think. I'm sure i'm upsetting some of you by doing this...but there are certain ethics that go along with this hobby/profession. I think the ethical standards on these boards are a tad bit higher then those on the [H] forums.
Thats all i have to say on this matter.

Yes Timmy there are a lot of ethics involved in photography and the first one is you don't steal someone elses' work and claim it as your own, under any circumstances.
