Most of the time AWB works fine for me, but when you shoot RAW like I do it's always possible to correct the white balance when converting to JPG.

Shoot Raw, AWB(it's usually correct). Choose your WB in conversion.

Custom, unless I want a "natural" sunrise/sunset or other color balance shift, in which case I'd use daylight.

Auto White Balance, RAW, adjust in PS CS. IF I'm shooting JPEG for one reason or another, I'll do a CWB shot and use CWB.
