i found a guy on ebay that wants 1080.00 for a 30d kit. Someone i know told me that u gotta watch on ebay cuz they sell stuff that didnt pass quality control or something?what do u guys think

I wouldn't take the chance. Besides, thats too close to what a reputable dealer would charge. Another thought would be to try a refurb. Adorama has Canon refurbished 30D's for $869.

I love finding deals on ebay but when it comes to camera gear I will usually buy new if possible. I did buy a Powershot S3 but it was nearly retail and from a reputable dealer. IF it were me I wouldnt buy.

For that kind of money I would not buy from e-bay. There are plenty of reputable places selling at close to that price. If not, search this very same forum since there are plenty of good deals to be had here. I use e-bay for things that are from ebay stores and selling at a low enough price to make a difference. This way I get the benefit of the low price with a full warranty from a reputable place. Otherwise I wont bother with them. Same as far as selling, if I am going to sell it better be something that is going to be worthwhile for both of us.
