I don't know if this is something other would want but how about an option to select one piece of music to be played while watching an exhibition?
Is it at all possible to play a piece of music continuously while clicking through the photos without the music starting from the beginning at each click?

A nice idea in theory but in practice I think the download times would be unacceptable

Thats true if the music is a 5 MB mp3, but it could be a streaming audio file or a even a midi file.

You could do it by using an HTML header with a choice of music in a list which could be streamed in a separate window. Have a look at the header I use in my site. You could have a menu item "Play Music" and then have a drop down menu with different pieces of music.

Yeah but the problem is that the music stops when You follow a link. I would want continous music while in the same exhibition and it should not stop or restart when browsing through the photos.

I think its best to leave music code to be handled from header code.
But please put music on/off switch there :)

Of course that goes without saying. Recently I have experienced banner comercials with music! Really annoying.

If any of you found a way to keep a background music on throughout the gallery, PLEASE let me know how to archieve that. It'll be nice to have a on/off switch too.

I think easy way of keeping it same while browsing is to make a frameset with one hidden frame which runs the music. Bad for Google though.
BTW, have you seen this: http://www.ricocheting.com/js/music.html

I did this for a friend of mine in a simple site. I used Iframes and put the midi object in a hidden <div> in the container/outer Html. Main content varies in the Iframe so that music is not affected by links to other pages. If you know how you can help yourself to all the code including javascript to control music. You might even by a bottle of vodka to drink while your listening!
