Thanks for the kind words guys. The 2nd shot isn't as sharp as I'd have liked, was breezy and this was the best of a few shots. We were walking the dogs down to the local shop for an icecream and Angie didn't want to wait around...It's also a heavy crop, which degrades the image.

Both good- #1 is the better shot but #2 is a more interesting beetle :)

Great shots, I'm with Brian on this #1 is the better shot but #2 is a more interesting beetle, look like some type of Jewel Beetle maybe ?? no idea about #1 yet.

Not so sure, it doesn't really look to close to the images in that link, but it could be. More research is required ;) Thanks for the link though!!!

Mmm like you say more research needed, hope you don't mind but I've just e-mailed a Dr of Beetlology :lol: & asked if he can do a pos. ID.

I've spent three bloody Hrs. trollin through shed loadsa shots links bla bla all to no avail, I bloody hope he can let us know which it is as my curiosity is driving me nuts ere :lol:
