What's the first thing you take a photo of with a new camera?

Usually, I'm testing to see if it works and for some strange reason the photo is normally of a lightbulb - usually the one overhead in the living-room/bedroom/wherever I unpack the camera.

I think I speak for most of the measurebators here when I say BOXES (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=114854).

But for me, I don't remember.

I don't know that I have a pic- but I thought it was hilarious and ironic- it was my husband opening mail,it was our mortgage statement :)

One of the dogs - whichever one's in range of the lens du jour.

A duck. :p

Seriously, I skim through the manual, check the settings, and then go out and use it. When I get back home I read the entire manual. I've never taken any kind of a test image with a new camera.
