Thought I'd go and try my hand at something different today and got these shots. I must say these guys move VERY fast. They only go around once per race so you don't have too many chances to get it right.

Hopefully next time I can get a few better pics.

What were you using?? Would like to see a few of the group shots than the single racers (and for the single greyhound shots, I'd like to see more of the frame taken up by the subject)

You're right about them moving fast. I go to Wentworth Park sometimes & take some shots (http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=173747) it's usually an enjoyable night :)

Got a couple of group shots but was focussing more on getting the individuals actually. Will try filling the frame more but they move too damn quick to pan effectively.

Just checked out your pics and they look pretty good. The only image I cropped was the second last one but I think next time I'll try for a few front on shots with a v.fast SS

Greyhounds are great dogs.
Even with the speed that these fellas travel and the fact that it was your first attempt I think you've managed some great shots, Win.
I love the muscle definition in the second shot :)

Thanks Nick. Being the first attempt I was trying to work out some of the good 'vantage' points. A few people on the day wanted to buy some pics (without even seeing them first!) so that was good. Will be there for the next event for sure!
