What is the difference between CF and SD for memory? I want to purchase a Sandisk 2gb Ultra II but which should I get...the CF or the SD and what is the diff?
I have a Canon 20D
Thanks

You can't use SD. That's the difference. :)

SD is a smaller card, and is not compatible with a 20d. 1 series cams can use both (dual slots). Many point and shoots and other brand DSLRs can use SD. In theory its a faster card and much smaller.

scary question.
How do you know you want a Widget Ultramax MkIIV if you don't even know what a widget is?
I know the clocks just went forward, but only by an hour - not to April 1st.

CF, MD, SD...are simply external 'packaging' of the memory chip inside. If the package cannot fit into your camera, you cannot use it! 20D takes only CF package.
Hypothetically an adapter could permit the use of SD memory into a CF form factor, so that you could use it in your camera, but why bother when just buying the CF form factor is less expensive.

SD memory card = (Secure Digital) type of card
SD short for Sandisk (campany name)
