I have finished my Scotland Photo Journal located at

http://www.evercloud.com/scotland.php

It's chopped down into 7 parts with roughly 140-150 pictures in total.

Thanks for looking :)

In a word: FANTASTIC! Your eye for a nice shot coupled with the obvious merits of that camera make for really great looking, crystal clear photos. I also think the borders add a nice finished touch. Nice website too, although it would be nice to have the option of seeing thumbnails to choose which to view if short on time. Now if only I could afford a camera like that!

Mr McLeod ?

Quite a set ! More or less faultless as far a travel sets goes.

Your shots were also quite a preview. Two years ago, I got as far as Pitlochery. Now, as my wife wants to go back, last weekend I took out the Rough Guide to The Isles (Skye) and The Highlands.

And luckily along comes yor post ! I checked all the detaills -- and some nice photos -- at the Quiraing Lodge's. You spent 2 days there. How did you like all the photos and training resources there ?

I assume that you are from Iceland. On the chance that you have not visited Wales, may I suggest same. U + U'R = 1 More great set !!

Having seen quite a few sets of D30/60 photos, it is now clear that they do add a slight soft brown hue to the colors -- just like Agfachrome of the 60's. That addition seems to improve the blues, browns, et al. My recollections of Scotland were "less colorful" re the moors et al.

THANK YOU .. might be worth taking a photo class at the Lodge.

Regards

Thanks Leighow!

A few corrections -

I am an Asian, so no way in this life my last name will be MacLeod. I tried, but the Clan chief just won't let me be one of the MacLeods. I was even at his house too!(Castle Dunvegan) LOL!!!! :P

Secondly, I live in New York City. I just happened to take the Iceland Air from NYC to Glasgow.

Quiraing Lodge has photography lessons, but I did not participate in one. I was only there for the bed & breakfast. However, it seems the people who live are very knowledgable about photography. I think I heard Sam(the owner) said he used to lecture at a University.

Maybe I will give wales a try next time. But honestly, I don't think I am done with Scotland yet. There is so much to see. :)

I think you need to visit Scotland again. It IS very colorful :)

EVERCLOUD

My appologies for having failed to use your proper Username.

I think that you are right. Judging from your accomplishments, there is more color in Scotland that my photographic eye is /was able to take advantage of ! ... although that is compounded a bit by the restrictions on the number of "stops to shoot this scene" that my travel companions allow.

On the other hand, in Edinburugh where I had few restictions, I largely came up empty-handed. Here is one shot (scanned from print) of the castle that you may like. I had a couple of god ones on the Royal Mile, few good of the distilleries.
