Hi, my name is Simon and Im new here and I figured the best way to introduce myself would be through my photo's. Sorry some of the pics are low quality. Ive only been doing this, purely for self enjoyment, for about 2 months. I havnt taken any classes and the little that i know Ive learned from books. Here are some pictures of various people and objects around beautiful Vancouver, B.C.
Any constructive input would be great :D
And does anyone know of a better picture server than fotango.com? Whats the easiest way to post pics on here?
Thanks

Simon

Well, for someone only into photography for 2 months they all look great. The picture of the bush tunnel is a bit dark, and I think you trusted your camera's P-setting to much. Try giving night pictures something more by playing with the exposure settings.

There are some great photos here, I particularly like no 3 and 6, because of the angles you chose to take the pictures on. And theres something about no 10 that really draws me in, it intrigues me for some reason, and leaves me wondering why......Great photo!

thanks :)

I have a really low grade camera that i bought at Radioshack so I dont even know if it has a p-setting (whatever that is). Its a centrios DSC-214, really small, 2.1 MP camera with digital zoom I like it, but I wish I had a real camera :(
Any other comments or tips would be great

GREAT!!!!

Look at us with our expensive cameras   .

Keep on going with your Radioshack camera. You're focusing on the picture now because you don't have anything else to focus on. So don't buy another camera until you think you've reached your limits.

Have fun learning

I really like the bug picture, it has a great angle and proper exposure (rendering nice colors). Like you, I started taking pictures with a low grade camera and learning from books. Composition is huge, all the other stuff comes with time and experience. I can't say that I am even that good, but I have learned a whole lot in the last few years. Here is my advice: pick peoples brains, don't be intimidated by pros, and take more shots from more angles rather than spending all of your time on making the one perfect shot.

Good start! Go out & take 1000 more!
If your camera doesn't have EXIF data, get a notebook & write down the info on each pic so you can figure out what you did & what you'd do different next time.
Then take 1000 more!
