The structures are so tall they puncture their own vanishing points somehwhere way up where angels play.

This must be picture never taken on Times Square, Ted! - I like the way you have used red, green, yellow and blue, in elusive way.

Wow. There is something about this photo I can't quite place - I stared at it for the longest time. There are a lot of surprises in it including the use of shadow to highlight unusual elements (like the orange cone on the lower left). The blur also adds some 'other-worldness' to it. The continent of Australia in the middle of the frame is another little surprise. Very esoteric photo. Very nicely done.

composition, colour, everything. love it. would you mind sharing what you did to the original image? I'm going to cambridge UK in a few days and i'd like to process some of the architectural shots in a similar way

You've done it again....best photo I've seen of yours so far :)
This shot is very busy, has a lot going on all at once....yet at the same time it's calming and even though there is so much to look at, no one thing pulls the eye away from anything else. (which is a good thing :D hope that all made sense)
Very nice work here :p

Don't mean to be evasive, but I just looked and there are about five dozen layers in this PhotoShop file. I wish I could just give you a simple explanation, but frankly it got sorta' complex on me. It was fun though... kind of therapeutic working out all of the details to create the final effect. Thanks for liking it, when it was originally posted it virtually got... nada. It was so nice to see someone find it and recapture attention. I was afraid that all the work that went into it resulted in an over the top reaction to viewers which people found distasteful. Whew... I am re-encouraged.

Ted, I have no idea how i missed this. Interesting PP work, I can only take a guess at all the D and B and blending modes that you used for this one. As always, your photos are works of art.

TedThanks Ted. I once a while (though recently not as often as I would like) have a look to older posts without replies (clicking the Forums I'm interested, then 'Replies' to sort then according to the number of replies, then the small arrow head to have the post with fewest replies in the first page). Very often I find very interesting posts worth of commenting, like yours in this case. :D

You are all very generous, thanks. As for the blending modes Bottom... Um, yeah.... it's easy to grow a tad obsessed with them... blending modes plus adjustment layers have entered our tool kits right along with lenses as a photographic imager's goto devices. ;)
