I was out testing my 70-200 4 IS w/ Kenko 1.5x attatched when this guy zoomed by chasing a flock of smaller birds.

Thanks a lot for all the compliments! I heard this and another hawk calling from a distance, set my EC and waited for him to fly over me. He was very low, about 50 ft overhead and going fasttt! I don't have any super telephoto lenses so normally when I try these shots the birds don't come close to filling the frame...but since this guy was so low I was able to get some decent resolution ;)

Very nice A.J.! You made your luck here by being ready and your executed it well. I haven't gotten any in flight hawk shots this close even with 500mm. Beautiful job of exposing the underside against the sky.
