I think these are the ones I might buy:

16-35mm f/2.8L $1329.95
24-70mm f/2.8L $1299.00
70-200mm f/2.8L IS $1649.95
100-400mm f/4.5 L IS $1389.95

This is well and good but there will be shipping on said items lest you order from RitzCamera (free shipping on orders over $100). Looks like a good setup to me, but I am still liking the monster Sigma 120-300mm F2.8EX I have. There is nothing like it, anywhere. That said you'd be covered from 16-400 mm!

Good suggestion!!

The only one I´m missing is the 100-400 :(

Therefore I use the TC 2 with my 70-200 IS and I am happy with a very special and excellent 2,0/135 L USM.

Yes, I also have this lineup in my B&H wish list so my wife can buy them for me.

My bag, exactly. Thanks for reminding me how much it cost! Ha! Wouldn't have it any other way!

Ya, but take it from me, then you'll still want this:

15mm f/2.8
85mm f/1.2
135mm f/2.0
500mm f/4.0 IS
Gitzo 1548 w/ Wemberley head and carrying bag

Oh, and a 1DMKII :)
(and maybe a couple macros, and a few TS-E's and and and)

Well, I have all those lenses, and my main regret is that I took so many side trips getting there.

Lenses I've bought that I've either gotten rid of or don't use enough to justify owning because I now have better and/or discovered I just didn't need them:

75-300 IS
27-135 IS
70-200 f/4L
17-40L
50mm f/1.8
2.0X TC
100mm f/2.8macro
50mm f/1.0

And probably a couple that I either can't remember or are too embarrassed to mention.

If you figure what those lenses cost in addition to the $5,668, I'd be thrilled if that was all I had actually spent.

Just a question : why did you get rid of the 17-40L ?

I didn't. I still have it, but rarely use it if at all.

It's a great lens, and I expect that once the novelty of the Sigma 12-24 and the 16-35L wears off, I'll use it again. It's too good to ignore.

Gitzo 1548 w/ Wemberley head and carrying bag

What's a Wemberly head? Where can I look at the specs so I can add it to my B&H wish list.

If I had that sort of spare change, I'd get a 35mm f/2 and go on a vacation with the rest of the money.

I really want a 200mm f/1.8L. I don't know why Canon quit making this beauty. I guess the price kept sales down. They run about $3,500 used on ebay and elsewhere.. Man, what a lens.

Of course, $5,600 won't cover all the long primes....it takes a lot more than that. 200 f/1.8, 300 f/2.8, 400 f/2.8 and 600 f/4 should cure my L fever!!
