Ratings and Comments & THANKS

First of all! WOW I stumbled accross EE on Thursday evening. Struggled until late last night to get it up and running from scratch. Mostly due to my own mistakes though!!

Anyways a question I have now. I notice that on one of the galleries when you add a comment it apears in the Admin Editor but not on the site under that Gallery. Also am I correct in saying you can only post a comment which is visible galery wide when you are looking at all the Photo's? Is there a way that you can have "Feedback" on the index screen when using Groups.

I have read a view posts before on ratings not being visible? Where do people rate the photo's? I have "Show comments" activated in the MISC settings.

Also is there a way where you can see which comment was posted in which gallery in the Admin Editor?

You must select in misc settings "show comments" and/or "show ratings" but just "show ratings" alone does not work. Those are the "global switches". Then you need to select from list below that the exhibitions which have this enabled. Each photo can belong to several exhibitions, so it is possible to have situations where comments are displayed for photo X in exhibition Y but not for photo X in exhibition Z.

The comments/ratings are "per photo" and displayed under each photo (the location is governed by templates). Currently you need to click the photo next to comment in comment & ratings editor to open photo editor to see in which exhibitions the photo belongs to. I'll try to make a summary in rating page later, and more fancy things like latest comments on front page or exhibition index.

Then there is a separate system which is exhibitions "feedback". Those are comments for whole exhibition or all exhibitions.

Oh, and also in comments and ratings editor there is this "owner approval is required before comments and ratings are published" selection - if you tick it on comments will be hidden until you approve them.

Thanks. I am not sure how I missed the ratings. Everything was set up correctly and when I looked I could reate my photo's . I think I was looking for ratings at the Gallery Comments. Still learning the system.

I will get back to you with a list of issues when inmstalling. But as I said, most were due to me not knowing much about apache, ftp servers, php (basically everything) hehe.
