Hey guys, sorry about all the questions but i'm completely new to selling.

Basically the picture being bought it going to be used for website usage (local)

I was wondering if anyone had any contract templates or one that i could use thats stating the buyer can use it in North America, for the website and local promotion. Or if anyone knows of websites that will help me build one.

Thanks. If anymore info is needed to supply me with one, just let me know.

Here is the picture btw.

Go buy the book "Business and Legal Forms for Photographers" by Tad Crawford at Amazon.com for $19.50. You'll have all the forms you need.

Thanks, will do. Though I do not have enough time to order it plus wait for the shipping.

I know its my fault for not being prepared, but does anyone have or know of a website that offers a template like this?

Most people hire an attorney to fine-tune their forms...which can cost a lot of money. If they don't, they are merely adapting a contract from a book like the above. I don't expect there are too many people who paid an attorney who are willing to share those types of documents with you.

Try "Photographers Mentoring Photographers"

Is there a difference legally between writing one from the book mentioned above and one that someone pays an outrageous amount to an attorney?

An attorney in your state will fine-tune the contract to your specific needs, including any applicable laws in your state. The wedding contract, for example in the book mentioned above only has about one page of terms and conditions. I suspect the typical wedding contract has between 2 and 3 pages of terms and conditions, largely based on the experiences of the photographer. An attorney might help avoid risks that could cost a lot more money to fix (if at all) down the road.

Hmmm by being in the military I wonder what I could get done. I got my will and everything done already for free... I am sure they can do stuff like this as well. May be worth looking into.

Keep in mind that an "IRON CLAD" contract can't stop someone from suing you, but it may keep them from winning.
