Ok haing probs with the pics,it says they are too big to put on the forums, however if i re size them to a width of 800 pixels(keeping aspect ratio)they are tiny, alot smaller than other pics i have posted on here, also if i save the file at that size then how do i save an original copy or will it do that itself?

Thanks

luke

do a saveas...do not save the original to the new size, keep the original just that! try save for the web it cut down file size. try also reading the sticky there are better ways this just how i know to do it

Thanks for the help,im a little confused as to what to do,i can either make the picture 800 pixels wide, which seems very small(alot smaller than the big pictures i see on here including ones that i have taken) or i can crop a 800 pixel square of my picture but then you lose the composition which i feel is an important part of still life experimental photography.

What does everyone think?

Ok ive played about a little more and had a look at 4 pictures i previously posted on the forums, when i view them in arcsoft ps they are around 2000 pixels wide, when i upload them the potn page seems to automatically resize them for you.

However when i try and upload these 2 it says it couldnt resize them and id have to do it manually,i cant see why it could handle the first 4 but not these, perhaps something to do with my camera settings?

The only things i changed other than the obvious things like shutter speed etc are the video system(from ntsc to pal) and i formatted the card in the camera.

Any ideas?

Do a Crop and in the size box, type 800px and change the resolution to about 175px per inch. Do this as a copy so that you dont degrade your image quality.
