I got a question, I called my local camera store to see what I could rent for the weekend, and the only wide angle they had left was the 14 2.8L I shoot mountain biking and dont have a wide angle right now for my 1D MK II, anyone ever used this lens to shoot sports?

All I know is that will be a super wide angle, and if you need it, why not give it a shot. The only way I see myself using that lens is if I'm really up in the action, might be perfect for mountain biking, thought I've never shot it.

I heard of the 7 major L primes (14, 24, 35, 50, 85, 135, 200) this was the least bought, the least used, and performed the least optically.

Set it for f/5.6 to f/8 and blast away. Great lens.

You can situate yourself down low near jumps, for example - set to f/5.6-8 as Josh mentions... Fire away and get the jump, the rider and the trees in focus. Bonus if you have a flash along.
