Hi all:

I just got a set of alien Bee strobes and put them to use on Easter. I'm real new to metering and strobe use let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Charming image. Good job playing with the new lights.

Skintones are a bit warm/over-saturated. I dropped your shot into PS and hit auto-color and it seemed more natural. Of course, you might prefer warmer tones.

Very nice shot - color, exposure all perfect. If I were to really get persnikety about it, I would say that the shadows around the toddlers mouth are just a little harsh. But that would go unnoticed by everyone except someone who would complian if he were hung with a new rope.

One other small thing. Because the toddlers face is not too well demonstrated, I see this as part of a group of shots, right?

All in all, very well done.

Yes I did warm it up a little in PS, and yes this is one of a few shots that I took that day. Thanks for all the comments. Here is another one from the series I took.

P.S. Loooks like I will need a reflector or something to get under the subject so I don't run into the mouth issue on Sean

I love both of your shots. Very cute and candid. The only thing that kind of bothered me was the hair of the boy on the first one (specifically the tuft of hair on the top of his head). I am new to photoshop, but it looks a little wierd to me. Great shots though and I look forward to seeing more.

Thanks for the comments. Luckily a few people in my area seen some of the pics and have requested me to shoot thier families. So keeping the fingers crossed and hoping to make some $

Domethiuos,
What light setup did you use to shoot these photos? I'm very close to purchasing some Bees and trying to figure out what equipment I need. Thanks!
