Please critique this pic. Should I lighten the face? Crop it tighter?

Horses are tough. I would recommend retaking it if possible. I would like to see more eye and the fence rail below the ears is distracting. Try shooting it in portrait. I don't really want to see the fly trap.

That's quite a blaze!

I agree with Poloman. This particular shot I'd crop the fly trap out, but you still have the issue of the fence rail. Tough shot.

I like the way the horse is lit but agree the other object are distracting and the shot could do with a bit of cropping. If you don't mind I'll have a play to show you what could be done?

Wow, your horse looks so much like one we have here, what do you think?

Nice light on it, but try to actually "see" what's there before you take the shot? ;)

The fence rail is a major distraction. Try again.

Alby -- just a super clone job. I was going to try to tackle it, but didn't have a lot of time between dog shows.

Thanks ebondanes it didn't take too long really. I was going to do the whole pole but started with the horse and thought it looks like the pole is behind so no need.:)

You're welcome. I wasn't sure whether to post it as you didn't have your image editing switched on, you can turn it on in your User CP and then people can show you how to best crop and edit your shots, it a good way of learning and getting good critique.

Thanks for the tip. As you can tell, I'm new to forums.
