Printing: Fitting image into 8x10 paper

I have been having problems fitting the image on a 8x10 paper with Photoshop 7 on my Epson 1290 printer. When I tick "fit to scale" and set the paper size to A4, the borders comes out unequal, narrower marging on the left then right on a landscape. Any suggestion? and how do I get a bordeless print with the full image on a 8x10?

The typical image from a 10D is not proportioned to 8X10. Are you using the crop tool to resize your image to 8X10. If not that could be part of your problem.

First step is to resize your image to fit the paper.

Also look at your printer settings carefully. I dont have a 1290 but I do have a "center" option, and it does make a difference sometimes.
