When the sun broke yesterday I was able to take some pics at smaller apetures however there are parts of the white home uniforms that are clearly washed out by the sun. Is this why I should buy a circular polarizer? I have been told sky or water as reasons for the polarizer but I would imagine that white baseball uniforms in bright sunlight would be the same issue. I hate to use the stops if I don't need to Am I correct?
Thanks again

Sometimes there are just too many "zones" in a scene for the sensor to capture. You may have to stop-down and sacrifice some of the darker areas in order to get highlights that aren't blown out.
I don't think a polarizer is the filter you want, maybe a neutral density filter.
Another question, are you shooting RAW? Shooting jpeg's is like slide film, not much latitude for exposure.

Indeed I am shooting RAW
