The lighting seems a bit harsh for the subject, and it bothers me that we lose the right edge of the piece. Even though it is in shadow, I'd like to be able to discern the edge. Finally, I think there is too much black space on each shot. It would work better as a vertical composition.
Exposure and everything is fine, but the above comments would improve the image, I believe.

Thanks for your comments.
Do you think they can be done by some Photoshop processing?

you could crop closer, and brighten up the shadows a bit, but it looks like a chunk of the vase is 100% gone due to it being as black as the background.
i don't think it's that bad. a closer crop to get rid of all of the black background would help, imho.

I think the bottom left corner "the whites" makes the vase look as if it was just copied to a black background.
Other than that, I kinda like the shadows.

The shaddows at the lower right seem to make it look as if it is tilting. I like the colors

Thanks for your comments.
How do you like this idea.
The background is real with just some processing.

The background helps a little. I like the jar from the first photo better, the colors were more vibrant these look faded and a little blown out, touch it down a tad and you'll be close :D .

HI Idoc
Have a look again. You asked for it: more saturated colors, more attractive background. It is real, believe it or not, It's real.
How do you feel it?

as an irrelevance to the photo, it looks like a Japanese vase to me.
I like the first shot better

I like the first one better, too. Bounce a bit of light in on the left, or maybe just a hint of spotlight on the background to separate the jar from the background. Or both!
:)
Edit: I meant Bounce a bit of light in on the RIGHT!

I think I still like the first shot more than any other, the colors although more saturated in the 2nd shot seem blown out and the background is just dis-orienting.
:? Not sure what to suggest, keep working with the original image until you find something you like.

Certainly the first photo is more artful and attractive. I myself prefer it.
But the second one, it's something unconventional, to say, a Harry Potter style attitude, not familiar-not strange.
