Ok here's how it works....we start with the USA, anywhere in the USA, and we go EAST. Whoever posts the first picture is the starting point. Say the picture was taken in California, the next picture has to be from one of the surround eastern states. If its from a city or country in Europe, it has to be in a city or country to the nearby East. Idk how well this will work out, but figured I'll see what happens. Good luck!

Sure! It's quite a jump, but we can get Europe, Africa and the Middle East on the next trip.

Thanks SI - I can't remember the ss - I took it a couple years ago and this is the "save for web" copy I had on my website, so no exif. I'll check the original when I get home later this month.
kk - It was taken from a hotel room. ;) Petronas Towers on the right, KL Tower on the left.

Excuse the old picture. Here is one of Singapore. It was with a P and S camera. I never realized the distortion on the building on the right.

I think Japan made a smaller version of Eiffel.
A new Tokyo Tower is planned though, and it looks nothing like eiffel, more like Seattle's Space Needle

It has it's ups and downs - trust me. ;) I do count myself as very lucky though. :)

I'm back at home and found the originals. I have a set of 4 pictures that are all pretty much the same ranging from 4.5 to 8 seconds. Not sure exactly which one it is. :o

The obligatory Malaysian Petronas Twin Tower night shot:
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/219/461253668_248956921f_o.jpg
F/18, 15 secs, 18mm of the kit lens, shot inches from the ground.
Straightened the image first. Tried to correct perspective, but it was a bit hopeless (maybe the angle adds to the "imposing" factor).

Need pics further East then.
Athena

It's still a great photo of the towers. :D Do you have anything farther east than Tokyo?
Patrick.TeSeng
24th of April 2007 (Tue), 05:51
Unfortunately all of my pics further east are ones taken in California and Minnesota, USA and they're nothing to write home about :)
I'm sure someone will post something still within the Pacific rim.
