I read in a photography book at the library about "photographer packets" that can be found at some libraries? I wish I picked it up last week. It's not there anymore because it was checked out. Basically, it said you send in your packet as well as photographs you have taken. The money from the sale I think it was like 50%, goes to the library since they are finding people to buy your work and they are getting your work out there. So it goes to them for a dontation. And the other 50% goes to you.
If someone knows what I am talking about please enlighten me. I tried to google it but, nothing came up pertaining to what I was looking for.
Any thoughts? and please correct anything I have said if it is not true.

Sounds like a scam to me.

Must have been an old book...I suspect with the advent of the Internet those days are long gone. It must be a relic of the past.

haha yah, as a matter of fact i don't remember the book mentioning anything about digital photography. i remember the book talking about how to get your photos out there. the beginning of the book mentioned the photographer submitting pictures to be put on postcards and had a bunch of examples of what work he put out and how many times they have been recycled. then the end part about the library. thanks for the responses liza and hawg hanner

Our library has pics on display for sale all the time, but I don't know what arrangements were made with them.

I could see where a libray may want to disply photos taken of the local area.
I may look into it at various libraires in my state.

I could see where a libray may want to disply photos taken of the local area. The last one was promoting a photo-tour in Africa. Some nice stuff, & some crap. ;)
