I took these today at the Dunebuggy.com Dash For The Cash 400 in Jean, Nevada. My first time using using AI focus, panning, and shooting other than single shot. Hope you like them...I will post more later.

Even though my friend rolled his buggy after about 60 miles and ended his day early, we still had loads of fun. It was a very rough course and lots of cars were broken. Here are a couple more from the race...

Awesome shots Justin. They certainly portray the action well.
Has anyone grabbed any of these types of shots using 'super wide' glass before (like 11-18 or something similar) ? The reason I ask is cause it looks like you can get pretty (scary) close to the buggies - might be able to get some, um, 'artsy fartsy' stuff with a nice wide angle.
Oh to have scenery like that here in New Zealand......I am dying to get some desert shots....
Having only been on this forum a matter of a few days, judging by the quality of the shots taken, I can see I am going to learn a lot.

Thank you all for the comments!

When I first looked at my LCD screen at the race, I thought the flags were sun flare . They may get cloned out if I do some editing for prints, these are relatively quick processing for POTN.

I started for about 5 minutes with the 70-200 and then moved to the 28-75 for the rest of the day, which was plenty wide IMO. Most of these shots were taken about 15-20 feet from the cars...personally, I wouldn't want to be any closer. The car in the first photo got a little sideways on that jump, I was ready to run at any time. I don't know if you have shot at 10mm before but you can literally be inches from the subject. My 10-22 stayed in my backpack all day.

Thanks Justin,
I intend to try to get some super wide shots at the next karting event I go to. Last time I tried to get close enough to get it right I got growled at by the officials......hehe.
I had thought from looking at your shots that you may have been a little further away than 15-20 feet. Cripes, with those rocks flying around in some of the shots 15-20 feet distance would be well scary enough.
Thanks for the reply.
