Well, the blind is set up next to my tiny pond, waiting for the first wood ducks to arrive this spring. Last spring, the first woodies came in on April 16. I'm betting it's earlier this year.
This was one of many pictures I got of these beautiful birds last spring.

Thank you, Sean. When sitting in my blind and watching, they do look like moving paintings!
Thanks, Mitch. I should have renamed this thread, "A wood duck with post nasal, er bill drip"! In fact, I think I will!:)
And thank you, Trevor and Dennis! They are indeed a beautiful bird. I have learned quite a bit about them watching from my blind. They are the "sneakiest" bird I've observed. How they blend in so well in the cattails with those beautiful colors is a mystery.
