NOPE! In FACT, I've seen people on ebay ask more than retail. :shock:
Canon inherently usually holds their prices.

I'm shopping for another one and the price is still hanging around $1,500! They're holding their value pretty good.

I found a place called Profeel.com. Bought one on Thursday, April 1 (no foolin') and it arrive the following Monday, April 5. Check it out here: http://www.profeel.com/eos10d.htm. Price was $1438.00 with free shipping. I just called them and ordered it. Very pleased with service. Hope that helps.

I don't know about your place, but in Europe Canon lowered the price of the 10D since its introduction. At introduction the price was about EUR 2100. Today it is listed by Canon for EUR 1799. That means you can get it on the street for somewere between EUR 1400 to 1500.

You can occasionally get "Discounted Purchases" from certain online retailers (i.e. 10% off anything coupon, etc.) which would bring the price of the 10D down. Circuit City would run 10% off Digital Cameras occasionally (with 18 months no interest, etc.), but trying to buy it with that promotion with one in stock was the real game.

I just bought one from Newegg.com, $1489.00, no tax, free FedEx shipping. They were as low as $1369.00 this past weekend when I ordered, but I really did not trust the lower priced merchants.

I just picked up a new 10D from Ebay--1600, with free overnight delivery, 512 40x Lexar (retail packaged) cf card, and an original Canon-branded 511 battery. I figured the card sells for 140 on Amazon, so I went for it. Couldn't be happier!

Everything came as described--new, sealed.

The price really has not changed at all in a year from reputable vendors. $1,500.00 rounding up the few cents.

ecost.com has new 10D for 1369. THat's a very good price.

W2,080,000 here in Korea. That is about $1750 USD. The crappy part is that if I even try to buy things from the US It will end up costing the same. If I insure the package, customs will search it and charge me a huge tariff. If I don't insure it, I risk getting a 10D in 10 pieces. I guess I will just pay the 15% to have a better camera.

I sure as hell am not going to wait until I go home.

Please, check out the reseller rating on them before you buy! Yes it may be cheao but hassles may well be only beginning! Please go to marketplace and chack out the "Member Recommended Vendors" thread. With a price that cheap (it should be about $1500) there has to be a catch of some sort!

If it looks too good to be true, it is. Pay retail, be happy. Costco has a good deal on a 300d. It's $997 but you get an extra BP-11 battery.
