Hi everyone,
With all this talk about copyright, I am afraid just to download something, and cannot find what I am looking for. I need a picture or rendering or just an icon that can be edited in Paint Shop Pro, I am trying to make my own avatar but I need a picture of a brain!
Can anyone help me? I don't want to steal anything. I am going to take the photo and overlay pictures or tubes of jemstones on the brain: Jemmind
Thanks,
Julie

Go to Google Images http://images.google.com/images and type in "brain" and "gov" You'll get lots of brain pictures and graphics from gov't websites which don't carry a copyright. Be sure to check if the one you want is copyrighted anyway, but if it was produced by a govt. employee as a part of their work there is no copyright.

Julie are you sitting down? Good. Now go to the gorcery store and ask for some hog brains. If they don't have them they can order them for you. Then you can get the 'brain shot' that you want.
LOL Don't respond with an "Ewwwwww"

Julie,
I did that once. Got a picture of a brain and put it in my wallet. I found that it wasn't a good substitute for the real thing, though. :)

Do you know any medical students? See if you can tag along on some of their studies or put you in touch with a fellow student who is working on understanding brains.
This all reminds me of that scene in 'Young Frankenstein' with Abby Normal. 8)

Thank you for all of your suggestions, I found some that will do ok, but darn if making what I want is much harder than I thought. It's gonna take a while!

Or this link. Why not learn about the different lobes and their anatomy... ;)

The GREEN lobes in the back (and green stars in 1st pic) are the occipital lobes. Very important in photography. Of course, they're all important. Here's a little gross anatomy lesson: :D
The occipital lobes are the center of our visual perception system. They are not particularly vulnerable to injury because of their location at the back of the brain, although any significant trauma to the brain could produce subtle changes to our visual-perceptual system, such as visual field defects and scotomas.

Well everyone thanks for all your help, I made myself an avatar. It's not quite the way I want it but it will do for now.

Hmmm.... I took my brain out, and it didn't have little stars or lines outlining the different sections! Where can I get it detailed like those in the pictures.
Nice avatar Jemmind. :)
