I just took my XT outside with my new 70-300 IS and 17-85 IS lenses. They snapped into focus really sharply and quickly. I'm much more impressed with the focussing than I ever was with my Tamron 70-300 or my existing Tamron 17-300 and 28-75. That's on my XT. I wonder how much of an improvement I'll see with my 30D? The only wierd thing is the whirring noise coming from the IS components of the lenses.

Maybe this should be in cameras?

I think he means the thread. I'm not so sure. It applies to cameras and lenses thus a less item specific thread.

OK. I was 5 hours without a reply, so I wondered if you might want to move it.

the 30d does have much nicer focusing, you'll find it more accurate, especially with any F2.8 lens.

To be honest I'm not really sure where to put the thread hence I put it in Talk About Photography as I wasn't sure whether to put it under bodies or lenses.
