Just got an A70 yesterday and I'm trying to determine if I should send it back for a new one. The problem is that it makes a clicking noise. It happens when ever I push the trigger down half way to auto focus. It also does it very briefly after i zoom in or out, also it does it briefly as soon as i turn the camera on. Here is a recording of the sound:
download me (http://www.awakeningretreats.com/sounds/click.mp3)
For reference you can here the camera zooming from about second 7 to second 10, then at about second 12 you can here the clicking i'm talking about as I press the trigger half way.

So what I want to know if this is normal or if i should RMA this camera and hope for a better one. Thanks

Good recording!!!

It's a perfectly normal sound of the AF system focussing  .

Both my S45 and G3 make the same sound when I press the exposure button, so don't worry and enjoy your camera  .

I believe you can turn off the sound by going to the menu. Can't remember 100% since I don't have my cam with me right now.
