I've just returned from Rally de Portugal and to say the camera and lens is covered in dust would be an uderstatement, they were black and white when they went, now they're both brown! lol.

Anyway, the sensor needs a clean regardless but can anyone recommend a canon approved company for a complete professional clean in the SE (UK).

Thanks in advance!

Well, i recently went to the Focus show in birmingham and had my camera cleaned there by ACS http://www.advancedcameraservices.co.uk/
unfortunately i dont have the before pics here at work, but my sensor was truly covered in lots and lots of crap, now it is absolutely spotless, he even cleaned my lens and the outside of my camera with a foam type substance. The sensor cleaning was an eye-opening watch, definitely not soemthing i want to undertake on my still-in-warranty 5d. i paid 20£ which was a show discount offer, i think the guy said it was about 30 to send it to them and get it cleaned,, hope this helps , D

I've always cleaned my own. On the body outside, I hit it with compressed air to remove as much of the lose grit that I can. Sensor cleaning is not all that hard. It is a little intimidating at first but once you've done it you will realize how simple a process it really is. For those rare occasions where I haven't been able to remove a spot, I take it into a Canon Service Center. This is not a warranty issue but sometimes they will do it on the spot and let you walk away without paying.
