I have access to a carousel horse (not antique, excellent condition) to be used as a "prop" for portraits, engaged couples, families, etc. It can support adults, kids, etc. in the 'saddle'. The surface is shiny - not the best for photographs...I can repaint or possibly spray surface with a matte finish. It is large, heavy to move, but I think I could have it on a rolling base.

1. What would you pay for it?
2. Would it be valuable to set myself apart to get new jobs?
3. Is a carousel prop dated, and would guys think it is too corny to be posed with their fiance...etc.?

1. I have no idea of what it would be worth.

2. I do think that it would make a decent prop if you are chasing a market segment (like children) that would support its use. I don't know if it will set you apart from others. That would be somewhat contingent on how you advertise this.

3. I personally would not have my picture taken with anyone in front of a carousel. I know some couples are into more fun and "we will do anything weird" kind of mindset. It might be something that doesn't get alot of use due to its uniqueness.

If you are going to use this I would seriously suggest that you contact legal counsel and get advice on liabilities should someone fall off of this during a shoot.
