Andreas, im glad you're interested

Im looking for
- a league photo gallery every 2-3 weeks starting in May to August with the quality shots.
- a photo gallery for each team by yr end (there is probably a web program that can do this
- an inventory of "cropped" Frontpage worthy shots (the picture on the homepage of the site). The should be the best of the best shots
- events that I'll need you for sure is the all-star game and finals of each teir
- you can work at your own pace. the main thing is covering all teams equally and putting up the galleries in a timely fashion.

I have a budget of $1000 for the season. Let me know if this works for you. To make it more enticing. You can also have the right and to sell the original digi photos to the player. This may be lucrative...maybe =)

Alright. This is the email I just got. I'm taking the job for 2 reasons

1) experience... I do want to become an NHL photographer one day (wish I got to play with strobes)
2) I love to shoot hockey.

Now I know the money is low but the part that got me thinking was the part of sellings prints of players. The only part I'm unsure of is how much to sell prints for?

Help?

Nice offer, look at prices of other photographers in your area to find the average price. DO NOT under cut your local photographers as it will make them unhappy and also don't over charge as it put your buyers off. Each area has different prices so do some research.

I've got no experience shooting kids sports but from what I've read you might find that a site similar to smugmug is perfect for what you want. It has the ability to sell direct and has a large amount of products available to the buyers. Posters appear very popular with parents.

Well done again

Not sure about Hockey, but here's LAX --

8x10 about $25

11x14 $40 or so, then double-up per size increment, up to ~$125 for posters.

It varies by paper as well, and what you may have done with it in Photoshop. For example, if you create a montage of the player and do it well, that poster might fetch $200-$400.

And, in advance, if the individual buyer tries to negotiate you down, let the business go. If they really want something, they'll be back. ;)
